VooDoo Jams is an Alaskan artisan food company specializing in spirit-infused jams, marmalades and finishing sauces.

Handmade and Heartfelt

Each recipe is hand-crafted in small batches with attention to locally sourced and in-season ingredients.

An Alaskan start-up that began on another continent.

Only something wicked can come of best friends on foodie adventures in France and Spain.  Four-hour dinners, gallons of café au lait, and several journals scribbled with patisserie and tapas recipes later, we came home to Alaska with big culinary ideas.

Sprinkle in the voodoo.

We were sipping and stirring away the waning days of winter when Kim playfully spiked late-harvest cherry jam with a splash of bourbon. After discovering spirited jams and marmalades elevated basic dishes into buzz-worthy dishes, Noelle had a business “ah-hah” and we slapped a label on it.

Finding our wicked way.

Collaborating with distillers, brew masters, chefs, mixologists, spice experts, and even a churner, we now craft seasonal menus of bold creations appearing in partner tap rooms, select retail locations, and on restaurant and special event caterer menus. Our wanderlust also means the occasional road show.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you do custom orders?

You bet! We gladly work with customers on corporate and special event orders. Our minimum order is 100 jars and jams may be produced in 4 ounce or 8 ounce jars. In most instances, we offer the customer one of three jam flavors, based upon current spirit and brew selections and seasonal availability. We require four-weeks lead time in order to best manage our production schedule, and work with our vendors to secure the freshest ingredients. To have VooDoo Jams served or presented at your next event, we require a 30 day notice and a 50 percent deposit.

How long is the jam shelf-stable?

In a cool pantry, out of sunlight, our jams keep for one year unopened. Once opened, refrigerate and enjoy within two months for best flavor.

Are the jams gluten-free or allergen-free?

Our ingredients are clearly listed on the label. Pectin is a natural gelling agent and is gluten-free according to the International Pectin Producers Association. Our jams are made in a commercial facility where major food allergens are present and while we take great care in avoiding cross-contamination, it is not guaranteed.

How do you infuse the alcohol in the jam?

That’s a trade secret, but rest assured it takes time and careful measurement to ensure a flavor balance and maintain the integrity of the berries.

Why don’t you carry the same flavors year-round?

We go with the flow! We pride ourselves in fresh, locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible. We also jump on brewer and mixologist recommendations, customer suggestions and sometimes just get a whim! Some favorites will make a reappearance a few times a year but a good habit is to regularly check our pop-ups and buy it while you can.

Where is your jam made?

VooDoo Jams are proudly handcrafted by Alaskan jamsters Kim Kovol and Noelle Hardt in an accredited commercial kitchen in Anchorage.

Is there really alcohol in the jam?

Yes, we carefully select spirits and brews based upon the unique fermenting and flavor profiles created by distillers and brewers. While much of the alcohol content is cooked out, what remains are the notes of oak, vanilla, caramel, spices, tobacco or coffee.

Can you ship products outside of Alaska?

We are currently working through the regulations to allow for interstate shipping and ecommerce. For now, we’re happy to share our expertise in how to safely ship delicious VooDoo Jams to your Lower 48 friends and family members; simply drop us an email or give us a call.
